Jared, an owner of a large local technology company, came to our office asking if there was anything that we could do to help him have a more “professional smile.” He mentioned that he subconsciously didn’t smile as much as he wanted to because of embarrassment of what his teeth looked like. This became apparent to him when he would look at photos of himself and notice that he rarely smiled, which was NOT his personality. We were able to give him a fantastic smile with the aid of dental implants, gum therapy, laser contouring of his gums, and new veneers. This gave him and his confidence quite the boost. (Perhaps that why he calls his company Boostability. 🙂

Denise always had a gap between her front teeth and felt they were short and dark. We were able to correct all of these problems with veneers and crowns. Denise was super fun to work with. After her smile makeover, she competed in a national fitness competition and landed a fitness-modeling job partly because of her new beautiful new smile.

We thoroughly enjoyed the smile makeover we did for “JT.” As an extremely intelligent businessman in our community, JT wanted to regain his confidence and stop worrying about his smile. Because he had an unconscious habit of teeth grinding, his teeth were visibly shorter and had even begun to change the shape of his face. His shorter teeth as well as some yellowing and discoloration made him look much older than he really was. JT had become self-conscious about what others thought of him when he would talk to them. We were able to correct all these challenges and he now smiles from ear to ear–with confidence!

Lena has wanted to improve her smile for several years. She works in a very high profile job where she interacts with people all day long. She has mentioned that she has felt like people would, “just stare at my bad teeth and I was embarrassed of my smile.” She worked with a few dentists to try to correct her “teeth problems” and they were unsuccessful in their attempts. She then came to The Smile Studio. We came up with a comprehensive approach that included the use of a specialist (Dr. Alex Bankhead) to place an implant and to add bone where she had lost it from having multiple unsuccessful attempts. We then worked our magic and were able to create a very natural looking smile for her. She is so pleased with her new smile that she says she can hardly stop smiling now!

This 19-year old patient drove three hours from a neighboring state to see us. She was born without a couple of her front teeth and had some health issues that adversely effected her other teeth. After being tired of how she was treated in high school for not having an ideal smile, she was ready for a real change. We were able to come up with a plan that involved implants, root canal therapy, and gum therapy. After establishing a solid, healthy foundation in her mouth, we gave her a completely new smile.

This BYU student came to our office concerned with the staining that she had between her teeth. Because of the discoloration, she didn’t like the look of her smile. She had had bonding (white fillings) done on her front teeth when she was younger. Over time, the bonding had become stained and as she explained, “it looked like I had yellow between my teeth.” We were able to give her the perfect smile that she had been envisioning.

Curtis came to me a few years ago and mentioned that he was uncomfortable about his smile in professional settings. He felt like the large gap in his teeth (caused because he was born without one of his front teeth) detracted from his work presentations. We began his treatment with braces. We then needed to add a tooth to his smile. We found that he didn’t have enough bone structure to support an implant. So we did a smile makeover for him by placing a bridge in place of the implant. This was tricky with his gum levels. So working with the artists from Utah Valley Dental Lab we were able to add some pink porcelain to his bridge to give him a more natural look. Curtis’ new smile now reflects the true professional that he is.

This college student from California came to see us because she was having trouble with two veneers she had put on four years prior. We found that her gums were infected and swollen and under one of her veneers the tooth was going gray. The other veneer one was too long. These problems were due to veneers that were a poor fit for her natural teeth, creating a harbor for bacteria and thus causing her gums to have an infection. We corrected all these issues and gave her proper fitting veneers that fixed all of her concerns.

A 25-year female came to our office complaining about all the gaps that she had between her teeth. She was born without one of her top and bottom front teeth, which caused the extra spacing. When we explained that braces would be a great place to start, she asked for something more immediate. You see, she felt wedding bells would be ringing soon. She didn’t want to have braces in those pictures but wanted a perfect immediate smile instead. We were able to provide cosmetic solutions and transformed her smile—and we were done in plenty of time for her big day.

Allene is an avid skier who skis nearly 200 days a year! And she’s not your typical skier either. She jumps out of helicopters and skis the really hard stuff! She presented to my office saying she was fearful of the dentist. In fact, she hadn’t been to any dentist in 6 years. Because she was embarrassed of her smile, she had decided that she wanted all her teeth fixed and she wanted it all done in one setting. Her kids were raised and now it was her turn. Due to some loss of enamel on her teeth, we needed to strengthen 20 of her teeth. We determined the best option was to use IV Sedation and do all of the dental work in one day. She only missed a day or two of skiing!
Allene comments that some of her friends who have had facelifts feel that Allene got more bang for the buck with her smile makeover than they got with their facelifts. That’s how much it changed the look of her whole face.

Unfortunately Daren was born with missing teeth and never had the chance to correct his dental problems while he was growing up. He felt like “good teeth just weren’t in the cards for me.” Due to the help of some kind neighbors, friends, and help from Utah Valley Dental Lab, we were able to help him get the smile that he always deserved. To correct his smile, it required crowns, bridges, and a removable lower partial denture. After his new smile he said to us, “Now I feel like I look like the person I was always supposed to look like.”

While skateboarding up the canyon, this 23-year male college student had an unfortunate wreck where his board hit him in the face. The impact broke off one of his teeth at the gum line. We removed the tooth and placed an implant post. While the bone healed, we had him wear a fake tooth. Then we attached his implant crown to his implant post and he was back to dating again!

DeeDee noticed that her left front tooth was slowly becoming darker than the one next to it. After doing some testing on the tooth, we concluded that the tooth would have to be removed. Dr. Alex Bankhead helped with the surgery and implant placement and she had an excellent result. The result is so natural-looking that if we hadn’t told you she had an implant, you probably wouldn’t have been able to tell even with a very zoomed in view of her teeth.

This college student presented to my office, frustrated that she was having some of her old veneers “fall off [her] teeth.” She also was missing a front tooth from birth. She explained that she was getting married in six months and hoped she could have a perfect confident smile by then. Dr. Mike Harris placed an implant for us and we got to work on the rest of her mouth. After the implant post had integrated with the bone, we gave her a whole new smile and added a crown to her implant post. She was thrilled with the final result.

Hollie was born with small front teeth, resulting in a number of gaps between her teeth. These gaps made her feel like she didn’t present herself as a mature professional. She said she felt her teeth actually made her look more like a teenager than someone in her late 20’s. When we originally looked at her teeth, we assessed it would require eight veneers to correct the gaps. Because she wasn’t in a hurry to get them done, we decided to put on braces with an orthodontist. After two years, the braces were able to correct the gaps in her premolars. Then we were able to correct the rest of her smile with only four veneers instead of eight. We finished with a whitening treatment and she ended up with a fantastic result!

Michael is a very busy local businessman who didn’t feel that his smile gave him credibility when sitting in a board room with extremely successful people. He has mentioned a number of times now that he is so happy that he had his smile corrected with Invisalign. He would have never been able to wear full braces with his business position and felt this was the perfect solution for his smile. After about 8 months of treatment we couldn’t agree more!

Greg made some poor choices earlier in his life that left him with very limited options for his smile. Thanks to help of Dr. Chad Ellis, Dr. Mike Harris, and Dr. Dave Park along with Utah Vally Dental Lab we were able to make some incredibly drastic changes for Greg and his smile. At the completion of his dental care we could hardly keep him from smiling–something that he hadn’t done for years prior to getting this care.
